Heavy Rain Causes Major Damage at Boston Automatic Gearbox Company in Maseru West

A powerful and sustained rainfall on Sunday led to a devastating incident at the Boston Automatic Gearbox Company in Maseru West, where the exterior wall of the facility collapsed. The incident caused significant damage to several vehicles parked at the company, which were awaiting servicing.
In an interview on Monday, the company’s owner, Mr. George Musumbu, confirmed the damage. While no injuries were reported among staff or customers, the destruction to the vehicles has left a serious impact on the business. “Though there is substantial damage to the vehicles, we are relieved that no one was hurt. However, this has been a huge loss for us,” Musumbu explained.
The vehicles that were damaged had already been serviced and were awaiting payment, complicating matters for the company. Mr. Musumbu expressed his concern that the damage would have a long-term effect on operations and customer relationships.
Regarding compensation for the vehicle owners, Musumbu stated that the company has not yet met with the affected vehicle owners to discuss solutions but assured that the situation would be addressed. “We are still in the process of meeting with the owners to find a fair solution,” he said.
As the company navigates this setback, the road to recovery may prove challenging, but Musumbu remains hopeful that a resolution will be reached soon to restore the business to normalcy.
