BOTHO University VC, Dr. Sheela Raja Ram, Celebrates Students’ Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals
BOTHO University Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sheela Raja Ram, has expressed immense pride in her students, particularly for their growing interest and involvement in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Raja Ram’s end-of-year message highlighted how despite the various challenges the University has faced, students remain dedicated to making a positive impact on the world through SDG-related projects.
SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action. Their primary aim is to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. These goals cover a broad spectrum of issues, including quality education, gender equality, clean water, climate action, and social justice, among others.
In her message, Dr. Raja Ram emphasized that the commitment of BOTHO University students to these goals stands as a testament to their passion for creating a better world. “I am incredibly proud of our students who continue to engage in projects that are aligned with the SDGs. Their enthusiasm and dedication are not only helping the University make a meaningful contribution but are also advancing the global mission to create a more sustainable and equitable world,” said Dr. Raja Ram.
Dr. Raja Ram noted that despite the difficulties and disruptions faced by the University over the year, BOTHO’s students have remained steadfast in their mission to promote sustainability. From innovative ideas in environmental conservation to community outreach programs, the students are consistently contributing to the realization of the Global Goals in practical ways.
Looking ahead, Dr. Raja Ram reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that BOTHO University remains at the forefront of supporting the SDGs. “Our students’ involvement in SDG initiatives is one of the reasons we continue to see positive change both within the University and in the wider community. We will continue to provide the resources and platform needed to empower them in their journey towards sustainable development,” she added.
As the world continues to face pressing global challenges, Dr. Raja Ram’s leadership and the students’ dedication to SDGs provide a hopeful outlook for a future of peace, prosperity, and sustainability. BOTHO University’s role in fostering this commitment serves as an inspiration for other institutions to follow suit in promoting meaningful action towards the Global Goals.
