Exploring Chinese Culture: Journalists Embark on a Six-Day Tour of Ningxia Province

As part of their efforts to learn about and strengthen their understanding of Chinese culture, a diverse group of journalists has embarked on a six-day tour of Ningxia Province, located in the northwest of China. This region, once known as a kingdom, is now an autonomous region with a population of approximately 7 million people and is famously home to the Yellow River, one of China’s most significant waterways.

The delegation consists of 14 journalists, including 11 from Africa and three from the Asia-Pacific region. Since their arrival on Wednesday, the group has been immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage and historical significance of Ningxia.

Highlights of the Tour

The tour kicked off with a visit to the Zheinbeibao West Cinema Studios, where the journalists experienced the burgeoning film industry in Ningxia. This studio is known for its contributions to the Chinese film scene and offers a glimpse into the region’s modern cultural expressions.

Following the cinematic exploration, the journalists visited the Ningxia Museum in Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia. Here, they were able to delve into the province’s history, including its unique ethnic diversity, traditional practices, and contributions to Chinese civilization. The museum showcases a variety of artifacts, art, and exhibitions that highlight the significance of Ningxia’s cultural landscape.

The tour then proceeded to the Ancient Yellow River Irrigation System in Wuzhong City, a marvel of engineering that dates back centuries. After their enlightening visit to Wuzhong City, the group made their way to Zhongwei City, where they are expected to further explore the cultural and historical facets of Ningxia.
