M500 “Tsoha o Iketsetse” Project to Support Vulnerable Communities Launched
District Administrator Mr. Ts’epa Chaba inaugurated the Tsoha o Iketsetse project today, aiming to provide vulnerable communities with M500 after their participation in developmental projects.
During the launch event at Lerobane in the Pholo-Namane site, Mr. Chaba addressed the first group of participants, who commenced work today. He urged them to fully commit to the project, emphasizing its historic significance and encouraging them to take pride in being pioneers.
“The government recognized the dire need for intervention to prevent people from dying of hunger,” Mr. Chaba stated. “Despite efforts to cultivate fields, drought has led to poor harvests.”
Mr. Chaba acknowledged that some might find the financial assistance insufficient. However, he encouraged participants to ignore such criticisms and focus on how the money can support their families, even if just for a short while.
The Tsoha o Iketsetse project represents a crucial step in addressing food insecurity and providing immediate relief to those affected by adverse conditions in Lesotho.
