Likeleli Tampane
The Honourable Likeleli Tampane, Minister of Tourism, Environment and Culture of Lesotho,
was born in Mabuleng, district of Mokhotlong. She is blessed with two sons. She was elected as Member of Parliament in 2012 and 2015 for Senqu Constituency, Mokhotlong. Previously, she served in the Department of Social Welfare. She was also elected to the Democratic Congress Party’s Women’s League and attended women empowerment workshops in South Africa in 2012 and 2013.
Other activities include leader of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy Youth League, the Christian Council of Lesotho, and acting teacher and librarian at Mapholaneng High School. An executive member of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), she served as a delegate to South Africa to prepare for Lesotho’s APRM launch in 2011.
Other achievements include best five Lesotho Youths in Congo Brazzaville on “The Progress and Lessons Learnt” NEPAD/OECD Roundtable 2006, and she represented the Lesotho Youth Council in Ethiopia in 2005. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Sector Management (Africa University, Zimbabwe), a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in Pastoral Care and Counselling (National University of Lesotho) and a Certificate in Adult Education (Institute of Extra Mural Studies).
