Ministry of Public Service Hosts First District-Level Stakeholder Engagement in Qacha’s Nek

The Ministry of Public Service hosted its first-ever district-level stakeholder engagement with public servants in Qacha’s Nek on Tuesday. The one-day event is part of the Ministry’s broader strategic plan to improve governance and administration through enhanced stakeholder engagement by 2028.
Discussions focused on key public service issues, including the processing of terminal benefits, human resources concerns, organisational development, remuneration and benefits, training and development, and the Public Service (Amendment) Act Bill 2025.
Speaking at the event, Principal Secretary Mrs. ’Makhoabane Ledimo highlighted that the initiative arose from the recognition that policymaking has historically excluded district-level voices. She emphasised the importance of including local perspectives to create policies that address practical challenges faced by public servants.
The engagement provided a platform for district-level employees to voice concerns, share experiences, and contribute to policy discussions. Officials noted that the feedback collected will inform future reforms and improve service delivery across the public sector.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing dialogue with stakeholders and plans to host similar engagements in other districts to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service administration.
