Lesotho Red Cross Society to Host Week-Long First Aid Training

The Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) will host a week-long first aid training from Monday, October 20, 2025, to Friday. The training aims to equip participants with essential life-saving skills for emergencies.
During the announcement at LRCS premises, government and private sector representatives attended live demonstrations. These included how to assist someone with nose bleeding, perform the Heimlich maneuver on a choking victim, and carry out resuscitation for accident casualties.
LRCS Qacha’sNek Divisional Secretary, Mr. Motautona Thabo, emphasized the importance of first aid knowledge. He explained that first aid is more than practical skills. “First aid saves lives by enabling immediate responses to emergencies, prevents conditions from worsening, and promotes recovery until professional help arrives,” he said.
The training will provide hands-on experience, preparing participants to respond effectively in various emergency situations. LRCS encourages community members, health professionals, and volunteers to take part to strengthen public readiness and safety across Lesotho.
This initiative aligns with LRCS’s ongoing efforts to promote health, safety, and emergency preparedness nationwide. Participants will leave the program with the skills and confidence needed to make a real difference in critical moments.
