Lesotho’s Deputy Prime Minister Justice Majara Leads Delegation at 17th U.S.–Africa Business Summit in Angola

Deputy Prime Minister Justice Nthomeng Majara is at the helm of Lesotho’s high-level delegation attending the 17th U.S.–Africa Business Summit, taking place from 22 to 25 June 2025 in Luanda, Angola. The summit, a flagship event organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in collaboration with the Angolan Government, serves as a critical platform to strengthen economic partnerships between Africa and the United States.
Joining Justice Majara is Kanono Ramashamole, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), along with other senior government officials. The Lesotho team is focused on leveraging the summit to position the country as an emerging hub for innovation, technology, and investment in Southern Africa.
The U.S.–Africa Business Summit is a premier event that gathers more than 1,500 delegates, including African heads of state, cabinet ministers, U.S. government representatives, and top corporate leaders. Discussions at the summit revolve around strategic sectors such as infrastructure, energy, healthcare, agribusiness, and ICT — areas where Lesotho is actively seeking investment and development partnerships.
The Corporate Council on Africa, established in 1993, remains the leading U.S. business association committed to advancing trade and investment between the United States and African nations. Through the summit, it aims to facilitate dialogue, forge new commercial partnerships, and support sustainable economic growth across the continent.
For Angola, this year’s summit holds added significance. As the country marks 50 years of independence and serves as the current Chair of the African Union, the event offers a unique opportunity to highlight its economic reforms, improved governance, and investor-friendly policies.
Lesotho’s participation underscores its commitment to regional and international cooperation and its pursuit of inclusive development through strategic alliances. The presence of top-tier leadership at the summit reflects the country’s ambition to scale up innovation and attract long-term investments that can uplift key sectors and improve livelihoods across the kingdom.
