Young people have been encouraged not to lose hope despite the 2025/26 fiscal year budget forecasting an uncertain future, particularly in terms of employment.
Horizon Dress Making School Founder, Mrs. ‘Marethabile Motsiba, shared these sentiments in an interview, emphasizing that while the budget paints a challenging picture for youth employment and development, it should not discourage them.
She highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in tackling joblessness, urging young people to focus on self-employment opportunities.
“In this era of limited job opportunities, it is crucial to embrace entrepreneurship as a way of creating employment. That is why we established the school in 2020—to empower and motivate young people,” Mrs. Motsiba stated.
Horizon Dress Making School has been equipping youth with skills in fashion and design, enabling them to start their own businesses and become self-reliant.
Mrs. Motsiba’s call aligns with broader efforts to promote youth empowerment through skills development, ensuring that young people can overcome economic challenges by becoming job creators rather than job seekers.
