Jonsson Factory Donates 107 Shirts to Botha-Bothe Correctional Service

Botha-Bothe Correctional Service has received a generous donation of 107 shirts from Jonsson Factory in Maputsoe, further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the company and the correctional facility.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Jonsson Factory Social Worker, Mrs. Matumane Mokhomo, emphasized the factory’s commitment to supporting the prison’s rehabilitation programs. She explained that for years, the company has donated leftover fabric to the correctional service to aid in the skills training of inmates.

“Since our partnership began, we have always sent fabric, but we had never visited the correctional facility. This time, as part of giving back to the community, we decided to sew shirts for the inmates,” she stated.

The donation marks an evolution in Jonsson Factory’s support, shifting from providing raw materials to offering finished products. This initiative not only enhances the welfare of inmates but also underscores the importance of corporate social responsibility in empowering correctional institutions.

Officials at Botha-Bothe Correctional Service expressed gratitude for the donation, highlighting its positive impact on inmates’ rehabilitation efforts. The facility aims to continue collaborating with Jonsson Factory and other stakeholders to enhance vocational training programs, equipping inmates with valuable skills for reintegration into society upon release.

The ongoing partnership between the correctional service and Jonsson Factory stands as a testament to the role of public-private cooperation in fostering community development and rehabilitation.
