Ministry of Education Confirms Delay in School Stationery Distribution

The Ministry of Education and Training, through the Principal Secretary Mr. Rats’iu Majara, has confirmed a delay in the distribution of stationery to schools across Lesotho. In an interview on Monday, Mr. Majara explained that the delay was due to issues with suppliers, who requested an extension for their delivery timelines. Regrettably, as of now, the suppliers have not yet fulfilled their orders.

Mr. Majara clarified that the suppliers causing the delay are new partners and not the regular ones the ministry has worked with in previous years. He emphasized that the situation was unexpected, as the ministry had relied on a different set of suppliers for several years without facing such issues.

In response to the current situation, Mr. Majara assured the public that the Ministry of Education and Training would take immediate action. Starting this week, the available stationery will be distributed to schools across the country while waiting for the suppliers to deliver the remaining materials. This measure is aimed at minimizing disruption to the learning process and ensuring that schools have access to necessary resources as soon as possible.

The Ministry continues to work closely with the suppliers to resolve the issue and expedite the remaining deliveries, with the hope that the situation will be fully rectified soon. Despite the challenges, Mr. Majara’s statement reflects the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that educational needs are met and that students can continue their studies with the required resources.
