Prime Minister Ntsokoane Matekane to Lead National Cleaning Campaign in Maseru

The Prime Minister of Lesotho, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane, will usher in the new year with a national cleaning campaign scheduled to take place in the Maseru district on Friday. This initiative aims to address environmental cleanliness while promoting community involvement in maintaining a sustainable and healthier environment.

According to the Maseru District Administrator, Mr. Ts’epo Lethobane, the goal of this campaign is to re-launch the initiative, which has been ongoing within the Maseru district. In an interview with the Agecny, Lethobane emphasized that the event represents a continued effort to engage the public, government bodies, and private sector stakeholders in the promotion of clean and safe communities.

The campaign will be attended by Members of Parliament from constituencies in the Maseru district, along with several government ministers, who will join the Prime Minister in cleaning efforts. Key players from government ministries and the private sector are also expected to participate in the event, reflecting the collaborative approach that the campaign seeks to foster.

The cleaning drive will focus on various areas within Maseru, highlighting the importance of keeping public spaces clean and encouraging citizens to take responsibility for their environment. By involving key leaders in the process, the initiative also seeks to inspire others to follow suit, contributing to a long-term cultural shift towards environmental awareness and responsibility.

This initiative by Prime Minister Matekane is a reminder of the role that both leadership and citizens play in creating a clean and healthy environment. As the country looks forward to a new year, this event signifies a fresh start and a shared commitment to improving the well-being of all Basotho.
