Lebohang Hlaele Commends RFP Coalition Government for Willingness to Learn
Lebohang Hlaele, a Parliamentarian from the All Basotho Convention (ABC), has expressed his appreciation for the Revolution For Prosperity (RFP) coalition-led government and its partners, particularly commending their willingness to learn and improve. Speaking after the adjournment of Parliament Sine die, Hlaele acknowledged the progress made in governance since the 2022 general elections, emphasizing the positive developments in administration and the approach of those in power.
“Since taking oath of office after the 2022 general elections, there has been progress in terms of administration and other matters of governance, a signal that there is progress and that those in power are surely learning,” Hlaele stated. He went on to note that this spirit of continuous learning is crucial for the government, especially as it aims to enhance its service delivery and address the needs of the people.
Hlaele also highlighted the importance of ongoing learning, even as Parliament adjourns. He stressed that the government must remain committed to improving its operations to better serve the public and deliver on its promises. “The need for those in government to continue learning in order to serve and enhance deliverables is important,” he added.
However, despite his praise for the RFP-led government, Hlaele raised concerns about the lack of adequate attendance by members of the Executive in the House. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the lower number of Executive representatives in Parliament, a situation that he believes hinders the efficiency of the legislative process and slows down the government’s ability to learn and grow.
“As Parliament has adjourned, I am worried and unhappy that the Executive shows up in lesser numbers in the House. This not only delays speedy learning but also affects other crucial factors in the legislative process,” Hlaele concluded.
The Parliamentarian’s comments reflect a balanced view, recognizing the progress made by the coalition government while also urging improvements in parliamentary engagement to ensure that governance remains responsive and efficient.
