The 57th Roof of Africa Race Kicks Off on November 27
The much-anticipated 57th edition of the Roof of Africa, one of the premier off-road motorcycle races, is set to commence on November 27, 2024, at Avani Lesotho. Registration will begin on this date to ensure that all participants can establish the fitness of their equipment ahead of the race.
At a recent press conference, Chief Marshall for the Lesotho Roof of Africa, Mr. Koo Lemeke, highlighted the significance of this international race, which is organized by the Lesotho Offroad Association (LORA). He noted that this year’s event marks a historic milestone, being the 57th race since its inception in 1967.
Mr. Bereng Ntaote from LORA’s Public Relations Office provided insights into the race route. The actual competition will kick off on November 28, with participants gathering at the Maseru Mall circle. From there, they will navigate through Katlehong Road, take the Parliament route, and proceed to Avani Lesotho Road. The course will also pass the Lesotho Funeral Services and return through the Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) before heading to White City.
This iconic race not only showcases the incredible skill and endurance of the riders but also highlights the breathtaking landscapes of Lesotho, often referred to as the “Kingdom in the Sky.” With competitors from various countries participating, the Roof of Africa promises to be an exhilarating event that attracts both local and international attention.
