Berea Ladies F.C Defend Ndlala Ndombazana Pre-Season Tournament Title in Gauteng

Berea Ladies F.C have once again been crowned champions of the Ndlala Ndombazana Pre-Season Tournament, securing the title for a consecutive time. The tournament was played under SAFA Sedibeng and staged at Qedilizwe Stadium in Everton North, Gauteng Province.

The four-day competition saw Berea Ladies deliver a consistent and disciplined performance throughout. The final match ended with a 2 to 0 victory over Maleka Ladies. Star forward Nthabeleng Lefty Letumanyane scored both goals, sealing the championship and underlining her importance to the team.

Berea Ladies Chairman Mr. Lekhooa Thabaneng expressed pride in the achievement. He said defending the title outside Lesotho marked a major milestone in the club’s development. He noted that the tournament tested the team both physically and mentally, especially on day three when extreme heat affected performance levels.

Mr. Thabaneng highlighted the match against Future Stars as the most challenging encounter. He said the game was highly competitive and the team conceded a goal, which forced players to dig deep and show resilience. He added that reaching the final was the result of teamwork and commitment from the players, the coach and the technical staff.

He also stressed the importance of pre-season tournaments in preparing the squad for competitive football. According to Mr. Thabaneng, the experience gained in Gauteng will boost player confidence ahead of their return to the Lesotho Women Super League.

Ndlala Ndombazana Pre-Season Tournament and Vaal City Sport Development Director Mr. Mandla Dipanyekga welcomed Berea Ladies’ participation and success. He said women’s football has received limited recognition for many years, which motivated the creation of the tournament. He added that the competition has played a key role in developing ladies soccer in the region.

Mr. Dipanyekga also noted that the tournament has strengthened relationships between local teams and Berea Ladies. He said it has encouraged healthy competition and fostered friendship across borders. Berea Ladies F.C continue to position themselves as one of the strongest teams in women’s football, with their latest triumph reflecting steady growth, discipline and ambition on the regional stage.
