From December 1st to 10th, the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) is hosting a group of international tour operators under the Globe Trotters umbrella. The visit aims to showcase the country’s tourism offerings and strengthen Lesotho’s presence in global markets.
Yesterday, the group paid a courtesy call to the Ministers of Tourism and Foreign Affairs before beginning a tour of key attractions across the country. The itinerary includes cultural, historical, and natural sites, providing the operators with firsthand experience of Lesotho’s tourism potential.
This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to enhance marketing efforts in international markets. The visit is a collaborative effort between the Lesotho-Rome Mission and the LTDC, designed to create stronger partnerships with global tour operators and increase inbound tourism.
The initiative follows Lesotho’s recent relaxation of visa requirements for European Union passport holders, making travel to the country easier and more appealing for international tourists.
Honourable Minister of Tourism recently urged Lesotho’s diplomatic missions abroad to collaborate closely with the LTDC to attract international visitors. The Minister emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting Lesotho as a prime destination, highlighting the economic and cultural benefits of a growing tourism sector.
The visit by Globe Trotters tour operators is expected to generate greater international exposure for Lesotho, attract more visitors, and contribute to the country’s tourism growth strategy.
