The Embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in Rome facilitated a familiarisation tour of Globe Trotters SA Ltd, a tourism marketing company targeting European and US markets, to enhance the country’s international tourism visibility. The initiative is part of Lesotho’s strategy to position itself as a prime destination for culture, adventure, and natural beauty.
The delegation, led by Lesotho’s Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Lebeko Sello, arrived in Lesotho on 1 December 2025 for a 12-day working visit. During the stay, the delegation conducted courtesy calls on the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, reinforcing government support for tourism promotion and international engagement.
The familiarisation tour coincides with opportunities created by the Lesotho–EU visa waiver, expected to significantly increase tourist arrivals from Europe. Globe Trotters SA Ltd plans to produce a documentary highlighting Lesotho’s cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and adventure tourism offerings, aiming to attract visitors from Europe and the United States.
The Embassy emphasized its commitment to advancing tourism as a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and international partnerships. By promoting Lesotho on global platforms, the country seeks to strengthen its presence in competitive tourism markets and showcase its unique attractions to international travelers.
This initiative reflects a proactive approach to tourism marketing, aligning government, private sector, and diplomatic efforts to ensure Lesotho benefits from increased visibility and sustainable tourism development.
