APRM Hosts Inaugural Pan-African Inter-Party Dialogue Southern Africa Conference in Maseru

The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) will host the inaugural Pan-African Inter-Party Dialogue (PAIPD) – Southern Africa Conference on 10–11 December 2025 in Maseru, Lesotho. The conference aims to strengthen political dialogue and democratic governance across the region.

Political parties are central to democracy, linking citizens to institutions, shaping policy, and ensuring accountability. As Africa navigates evolving geopolitical and technological challenges, PAIPD provides a neutral platform for both ruling and opposition parties to engage, share experiences, and adopt best practices that reinforce democratic resilience.

The conference aligns with key continental priorities, including the African Charter on Democracy, Agenda 2063, and the APRM Strategic Plan 2025–2028. It will facilitate discussions on promoting transparent governance, citizen participation, and effective political systems to support sustainable development.

By fostering constructive dialogue among political actors, the PAIPD Southern Africa Conference seeks to strengthen democracy, enhance collaboration, and build institutional capacity across the region. Participants will explore strategies to address emerging challenges while reinforcing democratic principles that advance peace, stability, and development.
