Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture Hosts Enterprise Risk Management Workshop

The Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture hosted a comprehensive workshop on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for its management and staff yesterday, November 17, 2025. The initiative marks a critical step in strengthening risk management across the ministry’s operations, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, and mitigated.
The workshop began with sessions aimed at educating participants on the principles and benefits of Enterprise Risk Management. Staff gained insight into how ERM supports organizational objectives, enhances decision-making, and promotes a proactive approach to risk. Participants explored real-world examples and case studies to understand how risks can affect performance, reputation, and operational continuity.
A central focus of the workshop was risk identification. Teams were guided through exercises to pinpoint potential risks that could impact the ministry’s mandate. These included operational, financial, strategic, and reputational risks. By identifying threats early, the ministry can take proactive steps to address vulnerabilities before they escalate.
Following identification, participants evaluated the likelihood and potential impact of each risk. The assessment process involved scoring risks based on severity and probability, allowing the ministry to prioritize areas requiring immediate attention. This systematic approach ensures resources are allocated efficiently to manage the most critical risks.
The final stage of the workshop focused on risk mitigation strategies. Staff worked on developing actionable plans to reduce the impact of identified risks. Strategies included preventive measures, contingency planning, and monitoring processes to track risks over time. The ministry emphasized that effective mitigation requires ongoing vigilance and collaboration across all departments.
By hosting this ERM workshop, the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture reinforces its commitment to proactive management, safeguarding its operations, and achieving strategic goals. The workshop equips staff with the tools and knowledge necessary to embed risk management into daily activities, supporting sustainable and resilient organizational growth.
