LNDB to Host Stakeholder Workshop on Disability Inclusion in Maseru

The Lesotho Network of Development of the Blind (LNDB) is set to host a crucial stakeholder workshop on July 8, 2025, at the Lesotho Workcamps Association in Maseru. The workshop will bring together government representatives, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders with the goal of advancing inclusion for people with visual impairments across the country.
The one-day event will focus on raising awareness, sharing lived experiences, and engaging stakeholders in collaborative discussions aimed at identifying and removing barriers to full participation in society. Participants will explore practical solutions that promote equal access to education, employment, public spaces, and essential services for people with disabilities.
LNDB Executive Director, Ms. Lieketseng Machalotse, emphasized the importance of accessibility, describing it as a fundamental human right. “Without accessibility, people with visual impairments remain excluded from meaningful participation in all aspects of life,” she said. Ms. Machalotse further highlighted that the workshop represents an important step towards building a more inclusive and equitable Lesotho.
The LNDB hopes that the outcomes of the workshop will lead to policy recommendations, stronger stakeholder collaborations, and the development of long-term strategies that uphold the rights and dignity of people with disabilities in Lesotho.
