Alliance Insurance Donates Vehicle to LNBS, Boosting News Coverage in Lesotho

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening national partnerships and promoting corporate social responsibility, Alliance Insurance on Thursday handed over a seven-seater vehicle valued at approximately M250,000 to the Lesotho National Broadcasting Services (LNBS). The donation was made under the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), marking a significant step in enhancing the delivery of timely and reliable news across the country.
The official handover ceremony was attended by Minister Nthati Moorosi, Deputy Principal Secretary Mrs. Lineo Ramabele-Smith, Director General Mrs. ‘Maleloko Nkhahle, along with senior management and staff of the Ministry. The event symbolised a growing collaboration between the public and private sectors in support of national development goals.
Speaking at the event, Minister Moorosi expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, stating that the vehicle will play a crucial role in LNBS’s ability to gather and disseminate news efficiently. She highlighted that news coverage is a daily operation that relies heavily on dependable transportation to reach communities across Lesotho, especially in remote areas.
“This generous contribution from Alliance Insurance will go a long way in strengthening our efforts to provide the Basotho nation with accurate, credible, and timely information,” Minister Moorosi said. “We are truly grateful that Alliance Insurance is walking this journey with us to ensure media professionals have the tools they need to serve the public.”
She further emphasized that access to reliable news is a pillar of democracy and social development, and praised Alliance Insurance for recognizing the importance of media in nation-building.
Alliance Insurance, one of Lesotho’s leading insurers, has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to community empowerment. Through its social responsibility initiatives, the company continues to support health, education, and media sectors in the country.
By donating this vehicle, the company has not only enhanced the operational capacity of LNBS but has also reinforced the message that private sector engagement is vital in addressing public service challenges. The vehicle will be used by news crews for field reporting, allowing them to cover stories faster and more comprehensively.
The partnership between Alliance Insurance and MICSTI is a shining example of how collaborative efforts can yield tangible benefits for the nation. As Lesotho works to strengthen its media landscape and ensure access to credible information for all citizens, such gestures are critical in bridging resource gaps and enhancing public service delivery.
