Upper House of Parliament Adjourns for Easter Break

The Upper House of Parliament adjourned today, Thursday, until Tuesday, May 6, to allow members to observe the Easter holiday.

While tabling Motion 42 on the Easter Break, Senator Lerotholi Leshoboro Seeiso emphasized the significance of the holiday, describing it as a period of introspection, prayer, and forgiveness. He highlighted that the break would provide an opportunity for members to attend their respective churches and participate in religious activities, as Lesotho is a predominantly Christian country.

Senator Seeiso’s motion was seconded by Senator Bereng Seeiso, who underscored the importance of Easter as a time for reflection. He noted that members would use this period to return home, honor, and remember the death of Jesus Christ.

The adjournment allows senators to join their communities in observing this sacred time, reinforcing values of faith and unity before resuming parliamentary duties in May.
