Platinum Credit Ltd Resumes Operations in Lesotho After Three-Year Hiatus

Platinum Credit Ltd has officially announced the resumption of its full operations in Lesotho after nearly three years of inactivity due to a prolonged regulatory and operational process. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Maseru, marking a significant milestone for the microfinance institution.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the company, Mr. Mpho Monyane, confirmed that Platinum Credit will now operate as a 100 percent locally owned microfinance institution. He emphasized the company’s renewed commitment to rebuilding trust with the public, delivering value to clients, and restoring confidence in its services.
Mr. Monyane highlighted that the company’s priority moving forward is to empower clients and communities through accessible and responsible credit solutions. “We are committed to making a positive impact by offering financial services that truly serve the needs of Basotho,” he said.
Addressing the company’s obligations, Mr. Monyane stated that the first order of business is to resolve all outstanding client refunds in line with court directives. He assured that all valid refunds will be processed within 90 days, signaling a strong intent to comply with legal requirements and restore customer confidence.
Platinum Credit’s return to the financial landscape is expected to provide much-needed access to microfinance services in Lesotho, with a focus on transparency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
