Ha Ramachine Residents in Distress Due to Water Crisis After Borehole Incident

Residents of Ha Ramachine are facing an ongoing water crisis following a borehole incident that occurred on February 2, leaving the community struggling with limited access to clean water.
Ms. Matakalo Hlale, the Chieftainess of Ha Ramachine, shared these concerns during an interview with the Agency on Tuesday. She explained that the incident, caused by a Chinese company’s truck crashing into the borehole, has caused significant damage, disrupting the water supply to the village.
The company responsible for the damage has reportedly claimed that it is waiting for insurance approval to address the situation. However, this delay has only added to the distress of the community, as the borehole was intended to be a reliable source of clean water for residents.
Instead, the incident has led to a drastic reduction in the water supply, leaving many families without easy access to this essential resource. Ms. Hlale expressed that the situation is becoming increasingly dire, and the community urgently requires action to restore the borehole and secure a steady water supply.
As the crisis deepens, the residents of Ha Ramachine are calling for immediate intervention from both the responsible company and local authorities to address the damage and prevent further disruption to their water access.
