Unpaid ‘Tsoha u Iketsetse’ Workers to Receive Payment Once Funds Reflect in DMA Account

All workers under the “Tsoha u Iketsetse” programme who have not yet received their payments will be compensated as soon as the funds are deposited into the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) account. This assurance was given by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Limpho Tau, in response to a query raised in the National Assembly.
The question was posed by Phamong Member of Parliament, Mrs. Marefuoe ‘Muso, regarding unpaid workers from the Lithipeng Local Council in the Phamong Constituency who participated in the programme but have yet to receive their wages.
Mr. Tau explained that the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning had initially committed to allocating M102 million to the DMA to cover workers’ salaries and implement all programme objectives. However, only M50.8 million has been disbursed so far, causing delays in payments.
The Minister reassured affected workers that those whose names appear on the official list submitted to the Ministry of Finance will be prioritized for payment once the funds are available. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that all workers under the programme are compensated accordingly.
As the situation unfolds, stakeholders, including the affected workers, await further updates on when the remaining funds will be released to facilitate timely payments.
