UNICEF and Lesotho Government Sign Joint Annual Work Plan to Support Children’s Well-being

UNICEF Lesotho, in collaboration with the Government of Lesotho, has signed a Joint Annual Work Plan, a significant step towards improving the well-being of Basotho children and advancing the country’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking at the signing ceremony, UNICEF Country Representative Mr. Deepak Bhaskaran emphasized the importance of the agreement, stating that it comes at a critical time when children require comprehensive support across multiple sectors to thrive. He highlighted that strong partnerships and coordinated efforts among stakeholders are key to ensuring a brighter future for the children of Lesotho.

While celebrating this milestone, Mr. Bhaskaran also stressed the need for proper implementation and administration of the proposed plans. He urged all involved parties to remain committed to delivering meaningful results that will directly improve the lives of children across the country.

This agreement reaffirms the shared commitment between UNICEF and the government to address education, health, nutrition, child protection, and social welfare, ensuring that no child in Lesotho is left behind in the country’s development journey.
