Lesotho National Broadcasting Complex to be Constructed with M251 Million Allocation

The much-anticipated construction of the Lesotho National Broadcasting Service (LNBS) complex is set to begin following the allocation of M251,650,503 to the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology, and Innovation. This allocation was announced by the Minister, Nthati Moorosi, during her presentation to the Committee of Supply in the National Assembly on Monday.
Minister Moorosi emphasized that the funding for the 2025/26 financial year will not only facilitate the building of the new broadcasting complex but will also include state-of-the-art facilities such as modern studios and digital screens. The complex aims to elevate the standard of local media production, offering advanced tools for LNBS journalists to further enhance their journalism skills and news production abilities, both locally and internationally.
In addition to the infrastructure improvements, the Minister highlighted that the allocated funds will also be utilized to connect various government ministries to the internet, as well as provide essential software to support efficient communication and operations across departments.
This move is seen as a significant step towards modernizing Lesotho’s broadcasting landscape and improving the quality of journalism and communication within the country. The Ministry’s efforts to enhance digital connectivity and infrastructure align with the government’s broader goals of fostering technological innovation and ensuring more effective government communication.
