Lack of Educational Resources Hinders Learning at Matseka Primary School

Students at Matseka Primary School in Ha Mapote, Tebellong, continue to face significant challenges due to inadequate educational resources, with the school struggling to provide a conducive learning environment.

The school’s principal, Mrs. Mapallo Hlephe, has made an urgent appeal for support, emphasizing the dire need for proper school buildings. She stressed that a well-structured learning facility is fundamental for effective education and that the current conditions make it difficult for both students and teachers to perform at their best.

Mrs. Hlephe highlighted that the situation worsens during the rainy season, as the school lacks proper shelter, exposing learners to harsh weather conditions. She also noted that they previously depended on the Utility Grant to address some of their challenges, but the funding has since been discontinued, leaving them in a more difficult position.

The principal’s plea underscores the broader issue of resource shortages in many rural schools, where students often struggle to access basic facilities necessary for quality education. She called on relevant authorities, organizations, and stakeholders to intervene and provide much-needed assistance to ensure a better learning environment for the children at Matseka Primary School.
