Nutrition International Presents Fact-Finding Report to King Letsie III

President and Chief Executive Officer of Nutrition International, Mr. Joel Spicer, on Tuesday officially handed over a report detailing findings from a fact-finding mission conducted by the NI team in September 2024. The presentation took place in Maseru in the presence of King Letsie III, Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly, government ministers, senior officials, and development partners.

The event coincided with the silver anniversary of Their Majesties’ wedding, a momentous occasion made even more significant by King Letsie III’s role as the African Union Nutrition Champion. As part of the proceedings, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Nutrition International and the government of Lesotho, marking a strengthened commitment to addressing malnutrition in the country.

Mr. Spicer has been in Lesotho since last Saturday, following an invitation from King Letsie III after their meeting in Ottawa in June 2024, where the King requested that a fact-finding mission be conducted to assess the nation’s nutritional landscape.

In his remarks, King Letsie III highlighted the importance of the occasion, emphasizing the country’s ongoing efforts to eradicate malnutrition. He expressed gratitude to Mr. Spicer and his team for their dedication and commitment to supporting Lesotho in its fight against malnutrition.

The signing of the MOU and the report’s findings are expected to pave the way for enhanced nutritional programs and policies that will benefit vulnerable communities, reinforcing Lesotho’s commitment to improving health and well-being across the nation.
