IDM-Lesotho Conducts Occupational Health and Safety Training for LEGCO Staff

This past week, IDM-Lesotho, through its Public Health Management (PHM) discipline, successfully completed a four-day short course training in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Fighting, and First Aid for staff members of the Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO).

This short-term course provided an overview of potential and existing health and safety hazards that could impact the productivity of the enterprise. With a growing emphasis on employee rights regarding health and safety in the workplace, as well as the need for organizations to comply with International Standards and the Lesotho Labour Code, the significance of robust occupational health and safety practices has never been more critical.

The course, aligned with national laws and international conventions, aimed to equip participants with essential skills to identify workplace hazards, assess their significance, and implement prescribed control strategies. These measures are designed to protect the workforce from adverse health and safety conditions arising from the work environment.

For organizations or individuals interested in enrolling in this or other IDM short courses, inquiries can be made via phone at 22312868, WhatsApp at 5646 1658, or email at [email protected].
