Tebello Ramakongoana Smashes National Marathon Record at Xiamen Marathon

In a remarkable display of talent and determination, Olympian Tebello Ramakongoana has once again etched his name in history by shattering his own national marathon record. At the prestigious Xiamen Marathon in China today, Ramakongoana completed the race in an astonishing 2:06:18, securing second place and a silver medal.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in his career, as it is his fifth consecutive marathon with an improved time and his third successive national record in the event. Ramakongoana’s consistency and ability to surpass his personal bests have solidified his place among the elite marathoners on the global stage.

His coach, James McKirdy from the USA, expressed immense pride in his athlete’s performance. Speaking to the Agency on Sunday, McKirdy hailed the effort as a testament to Ramakongoana’s unwavering dedication and rigorous preparation.

“His effort today was massive. He has proven yet again that he is ready to shine on the global stage,” McKirdy said. “The Xiamen Marathon is a prestigious event, and we are honored to have been part of it.”
