Journalists Praise CIPCC Program for Enhancing Media Skills
Journalists participating in the China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC) program have lauded the initiative for its significant contribution to their professional growth. The program, which emphasizes skills in fact-checking, unbiased reporting, and understanding the impact of narratives, has been recognized as instrumental in ensuring journalists provide accurate and informed content to the public.
Speaking on behalf of English-speaking journalists during the awarding of certificates at Renmin University of China on Monday, Ghanaian journalist Mr. Samuel Ayammah praised the program for its transformative impact.
A Deeper Understanding of China
Mr. Ayammah highlighted how the program allowed participants to explore and understand China’s culture, development strategies, and societal values more comprehensively. He noted that the experience had corrected misconceptions and provided a firsthand view of China’s realities.
“China’s harmonious society, helpful people, high-quality development, respect for history, and modest expectations for the future are things that we should learn from Chinese society,” he said.
Lessons from Chinese Society
Participants observed how China’s commitment to hard work, excellent leadership, and unity has enabled the country to achieve remarkable development milestones. Visits to various provinces showcased the Chinese government and citizens’ collaborative efforts in realizing their national dreams.
Mr. Ayammah concluded that these insights offered invaluable lessons for journalists, particularly in how they can frame narratives that inspire positive change and foster understanding.
Empowering Global Journalism
The CIPCC program’s focus on equipping journalists with tools for responsible reporting aligns with its broader mission to promote international understanding and collaboration. By enhancing participants’ ability to verify facts, avoid bias, and consider the impact of their work, the program ensures that journalism continues to serve as a bridge between nations and cultures.
Journalists expressed hope that similar initiatives would be expanded to allow more professionals to benefit from this unique opportunity to learn and grow in a globalized media landscape.
