Significant Progress in the Construction of Teyateyaneng Bus Terminal
As part of the government’s commitment to promoting urban infrastructure development, the construction of the Teyateyaneng Bus Terminal is well underway, showcasing significant progress in recent months. This essential project is being executed by Chuye Construction, a Chinese company, at the site previously occupied by the Lioli F.C. ground.
In an interview with LENA, Urban Council Town Clerk Ms. Nkhabo Thamae provided an update on the project’s status. She noted that construction resumed earlier this year in February, starting with preliminary work that involved relocating street vendors and clearing a large portion of the Lioli F.C. ground to make way for the new terminal.
Currently, the contractor has progressed to the advanced infrastructure stage, which involves marking and digging furrows to prepare for laying the foundation of the terminal building. This phase is crucial as it sets the groundwork for the structure, ensuring that it meets the necessary standards for safety and functionality.
Ms. Thamae emphasized that the project is allocated a duration of one year, indicating a strong commitment to completing the terminal within the set timeframe. The Teyateyaneng Bus Terminal is anticipated to significantly improve public transportation in the area, providing a centralized hub for bus services that will enhance connectivity for residents and visitors alike.
The development of the bus terminal is part of a broader government initiative aimed at improving urban infrastructure across the country. By investing in such projects, the government aims to create more efficient transport systems, which are essential for economic growth and improved quality of life.
As construction continues, the Teyateyaneng Bus Terminal is poised to become a vital asset for the community, facilitating better access to transportation and contributing to the overall development of the region. The ongoing work reflects a proactive approach to urban planning, ensuring that essential services are readily available to the population.
