Lesotho National Olympic Committee and Sports Commission Sign MoU to Unite Sports Community

The Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) and the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) this weekend. The agreement aims to promote solidarity and strengthen cooperation in the country’s sports sector.
In a phone interview on Sunday, Mr. Baba Malephane, LSRC President, said the MoU will enhance unity within Lesotho’s sports community. He highlighted the shared goal of developing sports and encouraging a love for athletics among young people.
“We have shared roles and responsibilities. It is our hope that this MoU will open doors for opportunities and improve communication on how best to grow this industry,” Mr. Malephane said.
The partnership will focus on creating programs to support youth involvement in sports. Both organisations will work together to build infrastructure, offer training, and provide resources to develop athletes and sports administrators.
This collaboration signals a commitment to growing sports in Lesotho. It also aims to foster a more coordinated approach to challenges facing the sector. Through joint efforts, the LNOC and LSRC plan to improve performance and increase participation at all levels.
The MoU marks a significant step toward a more united sports community in Lesotho, focused on long-term development and opportunity creation.
