Matebatso Doti

Honourable ‘Matebatso Doti was appointed the Minister of Social Development in May 2020 following the collapse of the 3rd Lesotho Coalition Government led by former Prime Minister, Dr Motsoahahe Thomas Thabane. She has previously served in the same position and ministry in 2012 and 2017 respectively following her election into Parliament representing All Basotho Convention (ABC) for Lithabaneng Constituency No. 36.

She holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management Planning, which she obtained from the Eastern and Southern African Management in 1997.  In 1981, she completed a Diploma in Human Resources Management at the Institute of Development Management (IDM).  Honourable Doti pursued a course in Leadership and Supervisory Skills at the South African Development Consultants in 1989.
She attended several short courses that include Personnel Management in an African Perspective at the Eastern & Southern African Management, Introduction to Computers at Computer Business Solutions (CBS) and Human Resource Management and Development at the Transformation Management Institute in 2004.  In the same year (2004), she completed a course in Human Resource Capacity Programme at I.T.O. Focus.

Honourable Matebatso Doti was born on August 20, 1952 in Lithabaneng, Maseru. She is widowed. She likes reading and teamwork.
